Niusha Shirvani is a composer, Tar/Setar player, and educator.

Niusha began studying Tar (Persian String instrument) with Amir Naderzadeh. With Hossein Alizadeh and then Fariborz Azizi, he advanced Tar playing techniques. He moved to ‘Mohammad Reza Lotfi’ at Shayda music school to study Persian traditional music repertoire (Radif). His passion for music led him to Houshang Ostovar with whom he studied western classical music theory and harmony. Niusha graduated from the University of Calgary with BA in music.
